Hi, I’m Rachel Elizabeth Ames — a Southern California-based wedding, lifestyle, and branding photographer with a love for authentic storytelling and a heart rooted in faith and creativity.
For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of capturing love stories, soulful portraits, and real-life moments across California and beyond. My style blends natural light, cinematic softness, and editorial-inspired composition, all wrapped in a warm and calming presence. Whether photographing a quiet glance between a couple, a laugh in motion, or the glow of golden hour, I aim to create images that feel like memories — timeless, emotional, and true.
As someone who began in the creative arts as an actor, vocalist, and visual storyteller, I bring a unique sensitivity to the way I shoot. I see each person as a character in their own story — and I approach every shoot with intention, intuition, and care.
While I love working in natural light, I also adapt seamlessly to shifting conditions — incorporating soft video lighting or speedlights for cinematic low-light portraits when needed. From sunrise sessions to fast-paced weddings that last late into the night, I come prepared to flow with the energy of the day.
